ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Lago Blu — the Blue Lake, called Lè Layèt in the valley’s patois — is a small pool of glacial meltwater on a shelf just above the village, and it frames the Matterhorn so perfectly that it has become the image of Cervinia itself. The water is turquoise from rock flour, the pyramid rises directly behind, and in June the shores hold gentians and crocuses. The walk from the centre takes twenty minutes on a flat, well-marked path (trail 107); a free parking area sits by the lake for drivers.
