ABOUT THIS ITINERARY

The two great stories of the northeastern Adriatic in one weekend: the day one belongs to Rome — Aquileia, the empire’s gateway city — and day two to the Habsburgs — Trieste, its successor on the Gulf — with the karst plateau and the Sistiana coast as the connective landscape.

OVERVIEW

The route at a glance

Day one follows the Aquileia-in-One-Day itinerary and ends with the Grado ride. Day two crosses to Trieste for the Piazza Unità, the coffee houses and Miramare, finishing with the Opicina tram panorama over the Gulf from the karst.
