ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION

The reserve’s heart is the open sand — long dune ridges (up to 200 m wide) between which the steppe blooms in spring. The juniper stand of Kula šuma is a relic of the pre-afforestation sands; the open steppes hold the rarest flowers and the sand wasp and bee colonies.
