ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Matica Srpska, founded 1826 in Pest and seated in Novi Sad since 1864, is the Serbs’ oldest cultural institution — its gallery holds the definitive collection of Serbian painting from the 17th to the 20th century. The Museum of Vojvodina, in the former Bishop’s palace on the main square, walks the province’s story from Neolithic Vinča culture through the Roman Danube, the Habsburg Military Frontier and the 20th century.
