ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Trg slobode is the city’s living room: the neo-Gothic Name of Mary Church (1895) dominates, flanked by the City Hall and the baroque Town Hall of the 18th century. Around it run the two old-town spines — Zmaj Jovina (with the Bishop’s Palace and the Serbian Orthodox St Nicholas cathedral with Paja Jovanović’s iconostasis) and Dunavska, a pastel lane leading to the Danube Park. The 2022 European Capital of Culture programme revived the squares; the café terraces never left.
