The Pazin gorge is Istria’s adventure venue: a zipline crossing the canyon on a wire from the castle side, seasonal bungee jumps from the bridge over the abyss, and climbing-via-ferrata lines on the gorge walls. For a town whose main sight is a hole in the ground, the best view of that hole is from the air.

The story behind it
The gorge became an adventure venue in the 2000s, when the zipline and the bungee bridge were licensed over the abyss — the same span, legend claims, that has tempted jumpers since long before the equipment was professional. The operators run on summer schedules, and the zipline has become the single most photographed thing in Pazin.
