ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Every Poreč summer afternoon eventually leads across the narrow strait to Sveti Nikola. The little passenger boat shuttles between the harbour jetty and the island’s pier all day in season, dropping swimmers on an island that has been the town’s beach for a century — an Austro-Hungarian fortress, the shell of one of Istria’s first grand hotels, and ring after ring of pine-shaded shore.

What you’ll experience
Fifteen minutes on the water, a day of pebble and rocky bathing with clear shallows on the town side, and the return trip with the whole Poreč skyline — campanile, towers, rooftops — lined up across the strait. Bring water shoes for the rocky entries and your own water in high summer.
