ABOUT THE DESTINATION
Siena is a medieval Tuscan hill city built around the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, where the Palio horse race is run twice each summer. Its Gothic cathedral, the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia anchor a UNESCO-listed centre that preserves the street plan and brick palazzi of its 13th-century republican heyday.
