ABOUT THE DESTINATION
Trento is the capital of Trentino, a Renaissance alpine city on the Adige river beneath the peaks of the Bondone and Paganella ranges. Its frescoed palazzi, the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral and the Buonconsiglio Castle reflect its history as a prince-bishopric and as the seat of the 16th-century Council of Trent that shaped the Counter-Reformation.
