ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION

Grgeteg, founded around 1471 by despot Vuk Grgurević, holds the revered Trojeručica (Three-Handed Mother of God) — a copy of the Hilandar icon — and its recent restorations made it the mountain’s best-kept monastery. Velika Remeta, entirely of brick (16th century), raises the region’s tallest bell tower (1733–35, nearly 40 m) over a secluded yard famous for its hospitality.
