ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Novo Hopovo’s church of 1576 is considered the most beautiful piece of 16th-century architecture in Vojvodina — its elegant twelve-sided dome and Morava-school tracery look transplanted from medieval Serbia. Dositej Obradović took his monastic vows here; Teodor Kračun’s baroque “Massacre of the Innocents” hangs inside; the relics of St Theodore Tiron draw pilgrims. Damaged heavily in WWII, restored in the decades after.
