ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION

Palić became the region’s spa in the 1840s; its Belle Époque core — the Water Tower, the Women’s Beach pavilion (1912, a secession confection), the Grand Terrace and the villa row — survives as the postcard of Serbian lake resorts. The shallow thermal lake is for walking and birdlife rather than swimming (a modern aquapark sits nearby); the nature park on the western shore protects herons, bitterns and one of Europe’s largest sandwich tern colonies.
