ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Vršac’s cycling asset is the same as its wine asset: the hills. The standard loop leaves town on flat rural roads, climbs gently through the vineyard belt below the ridge, and strings together three villages — Malo Središte, whose 15th-century monastery draws pilgrims to its spring, Gudurica, the wine village where the cellars double as lunch stops, and Veliko Središte on the quiet road home. Traffic is light, surfaces are good, and the climbing is steady rather than steep: roughly 30 km round trip with about 680 m of accumulated ascent.
