ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
The ferries that run along the Amalfi Coast in the season are the most relaxed way to arrive and the best way to see the coast from the sea. The boats run from Naples and Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi and the other villages, and the ride gives the view that the road cannot — the full height of the cliffs, the villages tumbling down to the water, and the sea opening out toward Capri. For a visitor, arriving by ferry rather than by the winding road is the way to start a visit, and the ferry between the villages is the most pleasant transport along the coast once you are there.

HIGHLIGHTS
Moments worth savouring
The cliffs from the sea — the full height of the coast seen from the water, the view the road cannot give.
The villages from the water — Positano and Amalfi seen from below, the way they were meant to be approached.
Capri and the Li Galli — the islands visible across the water on the crossing.
The arrival — the approach to Positano or Amalfi by water, the most dramatic way to arrive.
