ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
The valley camps sit close and convenient: Camping International Touring, 4 km west in Sarre, pitches under trees beside the Dora Baltea with bungalows and mobile homes, open mid-May to the end of September. The Lazy Bee Camping Village at Quart, 5 km east, runs about 50 camper and caravan pitches plus bungalows with a mini-market and laundry. And up the Great St Bernard road, the family-run Camping Tunnel International at Etroubles (1,280 m) spreads 95 grassy pitches with pool and bar, minutes from Swiss border walks and the Via Francigena — with a six-pitch motorhome stopover with electricity and camper service.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
What you’ll experience
You base in the valley floor and radiate: Roman Aosta in the evening, Pila by gondola in the morning, castle days down the valley. The city camps are close enough to walk or bus into the centre for dinner; Etroubles is the quiet mountain option with star-gazing skies and cross-country skiing from the door in winter.
