ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Paleokastritsa is the coast that made Corfu famous: a scatter of forested headlands folding six bays of impossible blue. The 13th-century monastery of Theotokos stands on the central cape — rebuilt after pirate raids in the 17th century, keeping a small museum of Byzantine icons and manuscripts, a courtyard garden and the island’s classic view. From the main beach water taxis and small boats run to the sea caves and grottos along the cape; the Mythodea (La Grotta) and Agios Spyridon coves hold the clearest water on the island.
