The historic fortified old town of Bar, a hilltop settlement of stone houses, churches, mosques and an aqueduct enclosed by fortress walls at the foot of Mount Rumija. Damaged in the Montenegrin siege of 1877–1878 and later by the 1979 earthquake, it is now a partly conserved heritage complex with sweeping views over the coast.
