ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Risovača is the region’s prehistory: a cave at the town’s edge whose Palaeolithic layers held stone tools and cave-bear bones — a protected site, open with guides. Above the town, Bukulja (678 m) offers the easy forest walks and the panorama over Šumadija.
HISTORY & BACKGROUND
The story behind it
The cave’s excavations (1960s) found the Palaeolithic tools — among Serbia’s oldest human traces; the cave-bear bones gave the site its museum corner. Bukulja’s forest paths are the town’s recreation — the “air spa” of the locals.
