ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
This is one of the best camping locations in northern Italy: the sites rise in the pines directly above the Sistiana bay — a few minutes’ walk down to the beach, the Rilke Trail starting at the gate, the bus stop for Trieste at the entrance, and the karst cycling network climbing into the plateau behind. You can wake to the cliffs, swim before breakfast, walk to a castle for lunch and be at a Trieste coffee house by the tram home.

What you’ll experience
You camp in pine shade above the bay, mornings on the beach or the cliff walk, afternoons by the pool or exploring the Timavo springs and the WWI trenches of the nearby Carso, and evenings with the bay lights below. Bikes rent on site; the Alpe-Adria route passes the gate.
