The ascent to the Mirabela fortress is the short, essential Omiš viewpoint — a steep path up from the old town to the pirate fortress above, with the classic view of the Cetina gorge opening onto the sea and the town below. The ascent takes 15 minutes and gives the image of Omiš that ties the pirate town and the gorge together.

What you’ll experience

You ascend the path from the old town to the fortress, pass through the fortress gate, and emerge on the ramparts with the view over the gorge, the river mouth, the old town and the coast toward Split and Makarska. The descent is by the same path, and the whole visit is under an hour.
