ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
The Bridge of Love is the spa’s ritual: tens of thousands of padlocks on the railings, keys thrown into the river, from the WWI legend of Nada and Relja. Above the town, Mount Goč (1,117 m) offers the forest walks and the winter snow — the spa’s back mountain.
HISTORY & BACKGROUND
The story behind it
The legend: Nada waited for Relja through the war; when another married him first, she died of grief — and the Vrnjačka girls began locking their loves to the bridge so no love would be lost. The ritual grew through the 20th century into the bridge’s tens of thousands of locks — Serbia’s answer to Pécs and Paris.
