ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Founded 1509–1514 by St Maksim Branković (the despot Stefan’s son, a monk) and his mother St Angelina, Krušedol became the dynasty’s church and the Serbian royal mausoleum: king Milan Obrenović, princess Ljubica, two patriarchs and the leaders of the 1848 Vojvodina movement rest here. The church keeps its 16th-century fresco cycle and the Branković endowment’s quiet dignity — the mountain’s essential visit.
