ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
The ascent of Marjan is the Split viewpoint walk — a steady rise through the pine forest to the viewpoints above the city, with the whole of Split, the harbour and the islands of Brač, Hvar and Šolta spread below. The hill is a protected park, so the path is shaded and quiet, and there are sheltered coves on the seaward side for a dip on the way back.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
What you’ll experience
You walk up from the west end of the Riva through the pine forest, passing the medieval cliffside churches and the benches at the viewpoints. The first viewpoints give the panorama over the city and the harbour; higher up, the seaward coves come into view. The descent can end with a dip at one of the Marjan coves.
