ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Via Roma is where Courmayeur takes its morning coffee and its evening stroll — a cobbled, car-free spine lined with historic cafés, boutiques and the wood-and-stone chalets of the old village. At its foot stands the parish church of Saints Pantaleone and Valentino, whose bell tower — probably 11th–12th century, its spire shaped like a tiara and carrying seven bells — is unique in the Aosta Valley; inside hangs an ex-voto from 1704 giving thanks for the village’s deliverance from a French invasion. Two steps away, the Casa delle Guide of 1929 houses the Courmayeur mountain guides and their museum.
