ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Kosmaj’s forest is the point: a protected landscape of old beech and oak unbroken since the monasteries preserved it. The classic ascent starts in Nemenikuće, climbing steadily through the woods to the summit meadow and the spire — about an hour at walking pace, rooty underfoot, cool in the deepest summer. Longer loops link the monasteries and the ridge; the full circle is a half-day.
