ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
The Gadimlje cave is the region’s underground surprise: discovered in 1966 when a villager’s blasting opened it, the galleries run through metamorphosed limestone that shines like marble — the formations take pink and blue tones under the lights, and the walk (about an hour) covers the cave’s two levels.
HISTORY & BACKGROUND
The story behind it
The cave was opened by 1966 quarrying; the exploration (the local speleologists) mapped the galleries and the tourist path (1970s) opened the upper level. The “marble” is the metamorphosed limestone of the region’s old mountain core.
