ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Under a block of the modern centre lie the mosaic floors of an ancient synagogue — one of the most unexpected finds on the Adriatic: a 5th-century Jewish house of prayer, later rebuilt as a Christian basilica, its floors dense with geometric patterns and menorah motifs. The site sits in everyday Sarandë — ringed by apartment blocks and cafés — and a short visit between beach and dinner reads the city’s oldest layers.
