ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
South of the town the coast turns steep and the best beaches lose their roads: Filikuri, the first hidden cove below the castle ridge, is reached on foot down a rough path or by kayak and water taxi — a deep pebble pocket with the coast’s most photographed water. Further south the string continues through Jala and the small coves toward Qeparo. These are the swim-before-the-crowd beaches, best early morning or by boat.
