ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Porto Palermo is the postcard of the southern Riviera: a perfectly preserved triangular fortress on a pine-tied island joined to the shore by a causeway, floating in a bay of impossible blue. Built by Ali Pasha of Tepelena around 1800, it crowns the bay the way its fame crowns the coast — walkable inside in half an hour, photographed from the water on every boat trip, and paired with a swim at the small beaches either side of the peninsula.

FOOD & DRINK
Where to eat nearby
Seafood tavernas on the Spile waterfront — grilled octopus and the day’s catch on decks over the water; the coast’s best taverna row.
Family tavernas in Potam and Potami village — Greek-leaning kitchen, grilled fish and mezze away from the promenade prices.
HOTELS & STAYS
Where to stay nearby
Boutique hotels and guesthouses between Spile and the centre — sea-view rooms, tavernas and the xhiro promenade at the door.
Beach hotels and family camps at Livadhi and Potami — sand-first stays for beach days, quieter than the town strip.
