ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

A wine tasting on Korčula is the island experience beyond the old town — a visit to a cellar in one of the wine villages to taste the native Pošip and Grk white wines, with the local olive oil and the seafood of the coast. Pošip is the island’s signature white, grown in the interior, and Grk is the rarer white of the sandy soils at Lumbarda. The cellars are the slow afternoon of a Korčula day.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

What you’ll experience

You drive or ride to one of the wine villages — Lumbarda for Grk, or the interior villages for Pošip — and taste the wines at a cellar with a plate of olive oil, cheese and seafood. The tastings are unhurried, and the cellars often look out over the vineyards or the sea. A ride between the cellars on two wheels is a popular way to do it.
