ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
This coastal walk leaves the steep old-town lanes behind and follows the waterfront south from central Rovinj toward Mulini Beach and Lone Bay, continuing into Golden Cape Forest Park along suitable coastal and forest paths. It is a relaxed counterpoint to the historic core: harbour views, pebble and rocky shorelines, pine shade and the option of a swim along the way. The route is deliberately flexible and self-directed — there is no fixed distance — and it distinguishes the developed Mulini Beach and Lone Bay from the wider protected forest-park landscape beyond them.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
What you’ll experience
You set off from the central harbour area and follow the waterfront promenade south to Mulini Beach, a developed rocky and pebble beach close to the town and hotel zone, and on to the sheltered Lone Bay at the edge of Golden Cape Forest Park. From Lone Bay you continue into the protected forest park, using suitable coastal and forest paths through the pines and along the rocky capes. The walk takes in harbour views back toward the old town, pebble and rocky shorelines, pine shade and optional swimming stops. Mulini Beach and Lone Bay are developed bathing areas, distinct from the wider protected forest-park landscape of Golden Cape, and you can turn back at any point or extend the route through the forest as you choose.
THE EXPERIENCE IN DETAIL
What it’s really like
A self-directed, flexible coastal route from Rovinj’s waterfront through Mulini Beach and Lone Bay into Golden Cape Forest Park, with pine paths, Adriatic views and optional swimming. No fixed distance is prescribed. Swimming is optional and dependent on weather, sea conditions and personal ability; lifeguards, calm water, accessible sea entry, open facilities and specific businesses are not guaranteed. Bring sun protection and sea shoes for slippery rocks and natural paths.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Good to know before you go
The route is on foot and self-directed, with no fixed distance — you choose how far to follow the waterfront and forest paths. Walking is mostly gentle, with some uneven coastal and forest surfaces. Swimming is optional and dependent on weather, sea conditions and personal ability; do not assume lifeguards, calm water, accessible sea entry, open facilities or specific businesses. Sun exposure is high along the shore, rocks can be slippery, and forest paths are natural and uneven, so bring sea shoes, water and sun protection. The developed Mulini Beach and Lone Bay are distinct from the wider protected Golden Cape Forest Park landscape.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why it matters
This walk is Rovinj’s easiest coast-and-forest combination — a level waterfront route from the harbour to the edge of Golden Cape with developed and natural swimming along the way. For a visitor it is the relaxed, accessible counterpoint to the steep old town, and the natural way to extend a harbour morning into a pine-shaded afternoon without needing transport.
