ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Pelješac’s wine road is a natural ride: rolling asphalt through vineyards and dry-stone country, cellars as the stops, and the sea in view over the terraces. The classic loop runs from Ston over the ridge road through Janjina and Potomje — the twin-village wine centre — and drops via the Dingač tunnel to the channel-side cellar villages, returning along the coast. Stronger riders run the full peninsula road; the e-bike flattens the ridge climbs and makes the whole wine country an easy day.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
What you’ll experience
You leave Ston past the salt pans, climb the quiet ridge road through the inland villages, and ride the vineyard country to Potomje, where the cellars open their doors. The Dingač tunnel — a cool 540-metre passage through the ridge — drops you to the seaward slope for a tasting above the water, and the coast road home passes the channel beaches. Twenty to fifty kilometres of variants, all rolling rather than mountainous.
THE EXPERIENCE IN DETAIL
What it’s really like
A cycling loop of the Pelješac wine road — from Ston over the ridge through Janjina and Potomje’s cellars, through the Dingač tunnel to the channel-side villages and back along the coast.
HIGHLIGHTS
Moments worth savouring

Potomje and the twin-village cellars at the wine road’s heart.
The 540-metre Dingač tunnel through the ridge.
The channel-coast return past Trstenik and the beaches.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Good to know before you go
Rolling to hilly terrain on quiet asphalt; the ridge sections carry real climbs that an e-bike flattens. Summer midday heat is strong — ride mornings, taste at the finish. Take a lock and lights for the tunnel; carry water between villages. Verify current rental availability locally — no operators or prices are given here.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why it matters
The wine road is the peninsula’s landscape and its cellar door at once, and cycling is the scale at which both make sense. For a visitor it is the active Pelješac day with the best reward-to-effort ratio.
