Sarandë’s promenade is the city: two kilometres of palm-lined boulevard along the horseshoe bay, taverna terraces stepping to the water, the ferry terminal at one end and the town beach at the other. Across the strait Corfu fills the horizon — visible on most days, ferried to in under an hour. Evening is the promenade’s hour: the whole city eats, walks and watches the lights of Greece come on.
