ABOUT THIS ROUTE

The route in detail

The Chiemsee Radrundweg (some 50 km of signed loop) circles Bavaria’s largest lake on quiet lanes and dedicated paths, flat enough for the youngest riders. The classic plan splits it with the boat: ride the south shore from Prien to Seebruck, ferry to the Herreninsel for Ludwig II’s Versailles-in-miniature palace, hop to the Fraueninsel for the nuns’ abbey and the Marzipan workshop, and ride or ferry home. The Kampenwand cable car at Aschau adds a mountain half-day for the energetic.
