ROUTE
The shortest Plitvice program — a loop of the Lower Lakes canyon and the Great Waterfall from Entrance 1.
ABOUT THIS ROUTE
Program A is the shortest of the official Plitvice programs: a loop from Entrance 1 down into the Lower Lakes canyon, past Veliki Slap — the Great Waterfall — and along the canyon floor boardwalks, then back up to the entrance. It is the natural choice for a short visit, for the canyon and the park’s biggest single waterfall, and for visitors who want the dramatic half of Plitvice without committing to a full day. The distance and time below are typical; confirm the current route at the entrance, as programs and the boat/train timetable can adjust with the season.
PLAN RESPONSIBLY
Available according to current park conditions; snow, ice, flooding or maintenance can alter access.
Remain on marked park routes and boardwalks, follow ranger instructions and allow others to pass safely on narrow sections. Do not enter closed paths or approach the water outside authorised visitor areas.
