ABOUT THIS ROUTE

The route in detail

This long Via Dinarica Green Trail stage begins near Švrakava Waterfall south of Banja Luka and combines forest paths, gravel roads and paved village roads. It climbs above the Švrakava canyon, reaches viewpoints over the Vrbas landscape, descends towards Krupa na Vrbasu and then continues across the Manjača countryside towards Stričići and Banjica.

The route is a serious full-day point-to-point ride rather than a short recreational loop. The combination of 64.4 kilometres, 1,837 metres of climbing, mixed surfaces and remote rural sections requires strong fitness, suitable MTB equipment and advance transport planning. Some sections pass close to canyon edges and viewpoints, while part of the route uses the main road near the Vrbas.

Route character: the traverse climbs above the Švrakava canyon, reaches the Samar and Ljubačić viewpoints, passes Ljubačevo and descends towards Rekavice, reaches Krupa na Vrbasu and the Klanac mountain-bike area, then continues across Manjača towards Stričići and the rural endpoint at Banjica. Verified statistics are 64.4 km over roughly 9 hours 32 minutes, with 1,837 metres of ascent, 1,636 metres of descent, a maximum elevation of 1,114 metres and a minimum elevation of 190 metres.
