ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Where the pines meet the sand 3.5 km from town, Grado Pineta turns on the wind almost every summer afternoon: the bora and the daily thermal breeze cross the shallow lagoon water and give the most reliable kitesurfing conditions on the northern Adriatic — flat, waist-deep for hundreds of metres, with a wide soft-sand beach for launching. Beginners take courses in the bay; experienced riders chase the bora days that make this coast famous.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

What you’ll experience

You rig on the sand under the pines, wade into waist-deep flat water that stays forgiving however hard you fall, and ride the thermal breeze with the lagoon on one side and the open sea on the other. Schools rent gear and run courses from the beach kiosks; the bike path back to town makes the après-session easy.
