ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
The Llogara pass is the mountain gate of the Albanian Riviera: the SH8 climbs from the bay through the national park of the same name to a 1,027 m saddle, then unwinds in famous hairpins toward the coast at Dhërmi. From the pass the whole southern Riviera is visible at once — the Ceraunian ridge, the coastline’s curves toward Himarë and Sarandë, and on clear days Corfu on the horizon. The park protects old pine and fir forest, mascot deer and eagles, and the pass area offers walking trails, a mountain hotel and one of Europe’s best paragliding launches.

Seafront restaurants along the Lungomare — grilled fish and seafood by the water, busiest in summer evenings.
Traditional kitchens in the centre away from the promenade — lakror, spit-roast meats and everyday Albanian cooking at local prices.
HOTELS & STAYS
Where to stay nearby
Hotels on the Lungomare promenade — beach, cafés and the evening walk from the door; the quieter southern end is the better swim base.
The historic centre around Flag Square — the grand-hotel atmosphere and walking distance to the monuments and the port.
