ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Zvërnec is a small island at the edge of the Narta lagoon, just north of Vlorë, connected to the mainland by a long wooden footbridge through pines. On the island stands the Monastery of St Mary (Shën Mëri), a small Byzantine complex from the 13th–14th centuries, still in use and dramatically set between lagoon, pines and sea. It is the most photogenic and most peaceful excursion close to the city.
