ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

The national park’s camps turn a day trip into a stay: Camp Buk at Kulen Vakuf spreads over 10,000 m² of riverbank in the park’s heart — room for 200 campers who pick their own spot under the trees, five bungalows for the tentless, a restaurant of Bosnian grills on the water and a cafe terrace. From the gate it is a short ride (or an easy bike run) to Štrbački Buk, and the old forts above the river watch from the ridge. Toward Martin Brod the sites get quieter and the cascades get closer.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

What you’ll experience

You pitch (or park the camper, or take a bungalow) on the Una’s bank, swim in the marked stretches in the morning, walk to the waterfalls or the fortress ruins in the afternoon, and eat grilled trout over the water in the evening. Rafting and kayak operators collect from the camps; cyclists take the river roads between the park’s villages.
