ABOUT THIS ROUTE

The route in detail

The Pelješac wine road is the peninsula’s cycling spine: a low-traffic road that leaves the Ston walls and salt pans, climbs through the Potomje wine villages into the Postup and Dingač vineyards, and tops out at the Dingač tunnel viewpoint — the terraced slopes below the road have been Plavac Mali country for centuries. Roughly 35 km one way with the climb to the tunnel; the tasting stops at the growers’ cellars of Potomje and Janjina are the reason to ride it slowly.
