ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Veliko Jezero (the Great Lake) and Malo Jezero (the Small Lake) are the defining feature of Mljet: two deep basins of seawater enclosed by forest and connected to the Adriatic only by the narrow Soline channel, which runs fast at tide changes — once strong enough to power mills. Because the lakes hold the day’s heat long after the sea cools, they are the island’s favourite swimming water, and their shoreline — path, bike lane, swimming platforms and one small village jetty — is the spine of a park visit.
