ABOUT THIS ATTRACTION
Polače, the park’s quiet neighbour on the coast road, fronts a deep, well-sheltered bay whose stone jetties hold yachts all summer — and behind the waterfront stand the remains of a large late-Roman palace complex, built in the 3rd to 4th century and among the most significant ancient sites on the Croatian islands. The standing walls of the palace’s main hall rise directly among village houses, two early Christian basilicas lie nearby, and the whole ensemble sits close enough to the shore that a visit takes twenty minutes and a swim takes the rest of the afternoon.
