Calm-water paddling on the glacial Boračko lake in the forest above Konjic — a quiet, weather-dependent alpine-lake kayak or canoe outing at the foot of Prenj.

ABOUT THIS ROUTE

The route in detail

Boračko Lake, the glacial lake in beech and pine forest a short drive above Konjic, is a calm-water setting for kayaking and canoeing. Smaller and more secluded than the better-known lakes of the region, it offers a quiet paddle on clear mountain water ringed by trees and the slopes of the Prenj massif, and it is the lower-intensity outdoor option of the Konjic area — a natural pairing with the town, the Neretva canyon and the higher country behind.

This is a calm-water lake activity, not a river descent or a guided white-water trip, and it is entirely weather-dependent. Conditions on any mountain lake can change quickly: wind, thunderstorms, water temperature and visibility can all alter the character of the paddle, and the lake should not be paddled in strong wind, storms or poor visibility. Cold-water risk is real outside the warmest period, when the mountain water remains cold even in warm weather.

Access and equipment: visitors must check current local access, equipment availability and shoreline rules before setting out, as no rental service is guaranteed. The Atlas marker identifies the general Boračko Lake access area only — it is not a guaranteed launch point, parking place or rental location, and it is not stored as a start, end or waypoint. No route distance or duration is stated here; the physical size of the lake is not the length of this paddling route.
