ROUTE
A forest loop from the Skakavac protected-area entrance to the viewpoint and foot of Sarajevo’s 98-metre waterfall.
ABOUT THIS ROUTE
The Skakavac Waterfall Loop is a half-day forest walk north of Sarajevo, beginning at the entrance to the protected landscape and following established paths toward the waterfall. The route reaches the viewpoint above the drop, descends on the maintained path toward the foot of the waterfall and returns through the forest to the starting area.
The route enters the protected area along a forest road before continuing toward the viewpoint above Skakavac. A maintained descent leads toward the foot of the waterfall, where wet stone and spray require care throughout the year. The return follows a marked forest path and crosses several seasonal stream beds.
PLAN RESPONSIBLY
Suitable conditions through much of the year; avoid the lower waterfall section during ice, flooding or storms.
Stay on established paths and respect barriers and protected-area instructions. Do not approach unsafe waterfall edges or enter closed sections.
